STUDIES IN JAMES
By Eugene Garner
Eugene Garner was well-known and widely used among the Missionary Baptist Churches as a Bible teacher and expository preacher of Godís Word. Through the 41 years that he pastored at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Rockford, Ill, he prepared several Outline studies of New Testament books as Sunday school lessons. Unfortunately only a few were ever published.
Perhaps of all the Sunday school outlines that he prepared, this study on the book of James focuses squarely on his heart desire to encourage spiritual maturity in the lives of his brethren. It is to this end that this beloved author and teacher will lead you through this practical book of James with advice on how to face trials, overcome temptation, control the tongue, pray effectively, and how to practice what the Bible teaches.
It seems evident from the way that Eugene closed out other studies that we may be missing some final thoughts and possibly the last chapter of this study.
Eugene L. Garner, my dear friend and brother, who was such a great help to me in my early years in the ministry, left us to be with the Lord June 5, 1993.
I want to thank Derek Garner for providing this manuscript.
