The Lord’s Prayer

Teach us to pray; an example to follow.

The curious musings of ...
The sermon notes of an unworthy servant of God.

Matt. 6:9-13 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Lk. 11:2-4 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Woke up this morning thinking of this, particularly, Our Father which art in heaven. Over the last couple of weeks another part of the Lord’s prayer was on the mind, thy kingdom come thy will be done.
It is wonderful how God works in the hearts and minds of His people. In the face of all the uncertainty in the world today God is reminding His people that He is still in heaven above, that He is in charge. Do not be discouraged, look to God, trust in God, put yourselves in His hands.
Yes, there are physical forces at work in the world that reject God, and the teachings about God; these physical forces are being backed by spiritual/heavenly beings that are seeking to place themselves on the mount of God. But do not let this be cause for discouragement, there are things that have to happen before God in His glory is revealed.
The world in which we live is moving further away from God and His word; sadly they rejoice in their wickedness with no shame, rejoicing in the wickedness of their ways because they do not know God.
If you have not noticed the public shaming of the people of God has begun, believing in God long ago became passe, but now it is headed towards being almost confrontational. It is amazing how a sickness with a 99% + survival rate (except 70+ where it over 94%), has become a vehicle to keep those that say they are the people of God out of the place God wants them to be. Satan has tried for years to empty the church that Jesus started, forbidding people from owning a bible, saying they could only meet in certain place of a certain faith, and when that did not work the people of God were put to death.
What will happen to the people of God? What will the people of God do?
The people of God will keep looking to Him that is on the throne. Being reminded of whom God is, because this is the strength of the people of God, seeing beyond the earthly to the heavenly things.
Premise: Look at Christianity as a whole. In this it is easy to see the faithful and the unfaithful, those that have abandoned the word of God and those that love to hear the word; those that hear the word of God but will not do it and those that that hear the word and do it.
    Then consider yourselves.
